About Elaine
Elaine’s style of teaching is not only influenced by her studies with pilates teachers, it is also heavily influenced by the Alexander Technique, which she has practiced for two and a half years and currently studies with her teacher, Joan Arnold. Before studying Alexander Technique with Joan, Elaine studied under Hope Gillerman in NYC. In September, 2007, Elaine became the new owner of Rhinebeck Pilates, which was originally founded by pilates instructor Rose Ann Serpico. Elaine is so excited and thrilled to be teaching in Rhinebeck with such warm and welcoming, fabulously dedicated students! Prior to running Rhinebeck Pilates, Elaine taught at various studios in Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Hamptons, and the Hudson Valley. She continues to teach pilates mat classes at Columbia-Greene Community College, in Hudson, NY. She also teaches mat classes seasonally at the Ancram Opera House, in Ancram, NY. When she is not teaching or doing pilates, Elaine can be found running, hiking, or gardening. Besides staying active, she enjoys creating art in her home studio, playing with her Miniature Australian Shepherd puppy, Ernie, and renovating the house that she shares with her husband, Eric, in Hudson, NY. |
